I am writing to let you know how happy I am with the work done to convert my loft. I am so glad that I waited to have Will – I never thought it was possible to enjoy a home building project but Will, along with Brooksie completely changed my view on this. They are a real credit to A1 and if I had another loft to convert, I would ask for them again, without hesitation!
From the onset they were keen to listen to any questions or concerns that I had, addressing them all thoroughly by talking me through the project and how the team would work, also giving me a useful booklet to help guide decisions and purchases. They have been incredibly responsive throughout the project with advice on everything from how to optimise space to the best place to get bathroom suites from – and constantly checking that I was happy and fully informed with how things were going. They have always been keen to help in any way possible and with vast expertise and professionalism evident throughout.
Will led the work with impressive pace, finishing ahead of expectations and the quality of the work done is outstanding. His attention to detail, not only for the loft but also on other niggles I had around the house, was remarkable – he certainly came across as someone who really cared about doing the best job possible and he never made me feel that anything was too much trouble.
He has a real can do attitude – never showed me a problem without already having several suggestions for how to solve it. For example, whilst storage space with multiple access doors was originally in the plan, in practice this just wasn’t possible. Will showed me a couple of different ways that we could rework the plan to give me what I wanted and then worked with Building Control to make it happen.
Unfortunately there was a problem, as you might know, between scaffolders and a neighbour before the project started. Will was proactive in dealing with it once he was onsite with good communication and ensuring that they felt the issue would be avoided at the takedown. I really appreciated him dealing with the neighbours and at completion, both sets of neighbours commented on how well he had handled it and on the very strong work ethic they’d seen from him and Brooksie.
All of the team were extremely considerate and friendly, and a pleasure to have about the house. They cleaned up every day, sometimes leaving it much tidier than when they found it! Everyone who came into the house introduced themselves, were very polite and worked seamlessly together, the result of good co-ordination and teamwork. Everyone was very hardworking and conscientious, contradicting all the usual builder tales of no shows and long coffee breaks! The team were always punctual and my sons looked forward to seeing them every day, in fact, they are still asking after them!
Overall, I am delighted with all of the completed work. The whole house works properly now, from the top to the bottom! The loft room is spacious, bright, robust and warm and I want to thank Will, Brookise, Zac and all the plumbing, electrical, decorating teams for doing such a great quality job and being a real pleasure to work with. I would be happy to recommend them, and A1, to anyone.
Thank you for all your help to ensure that things ran smoothly from the office side too. I’m sure there is paperwork still to come but hopefully I’m up to date on everything outstanding!
LOFT CONVERSION, CS, WALTON-ON-THAMES, COMPLETED JUNE 2017
It is rare that things turn out as good as expected these days! However I wanted to let you know and ask that you pass on our thanks and compliments.
It has taken us a few weeks longer than anticipated to get the painting finished, the wardrobes completed and the carpet down, however last week was our first night ‘up there’, which was great.
The team were onsite and managed and completed the job from start to finish and did a great job, keeping us in the loop and took the time to explain what was going on at each stage. They also turned up as expected and on time during the build and stuck at it from start to finish, none of this going off to see or work on another job mid construction.
All in all a good job, thanks to the entire A1 team, I am happy to act as a reference or even show anyone in the sales process our loft.

Just wanted to let you know that we are extremely pleased with our loft conversion and would highly recommend A1.
We would like to pass on thanks to all the different team members who helped to make our loft conversion so quick, hassle-free and of a very high quality. The pre-build team were incredibly helpful in getting everything organised, many thanks to Rita and Helen. We also had really good help from the office from Julie and Annouska sorting out the details as we came to the end of the project.
We were really dreading the whole building process, partly as we had never undertaken such a big building project before and partly because we have various allergies which dust aggravates. Our project manager Rich and his team lead by Mihai were really considerate and went the extra mile to ensure that everything was as done with as little dust and disruption as possible. We really couldn’t believe how smooth and straightforward the process was and we were really impressed with the quality with which every aspect of the build was treated. All of the different people involved from the electricians to the tillers and plasters and plumbers were very friendly and treated our house like our home and not a building site. Rich really listened to all our thoughts and concerns and understood that I wouldn’t worry if I felt I understood what was happening. Nothing was very too much trouble and it was always really easy to get in touch with Rich and talk things through.
We spent a long time choosing which loft company to go with and chose A1 as we really liked their very detailed and meticulous approach. Needless to say we feel we made a very good decision and have already recommended A1 to one of our neighbours.

I have been meaning to send an email for several weeks but as I know my wife had been in touch shortly after you had completed our loft conversion at 64 Percy Road, Hampton I hope you don’t mind the delay!
I just wanted to reiterate my wife Vicki’s comments about how impressed we were with the job A1 and Rich and his team did.
From day one you did what you said you would when you said you would and the result was a great loft delivered on time and with minimal disruption.
We didn’t feel any ‘hard sell’ at the outset and once the project got going the guys were very considerate of mess and noise etc. which was great, especially with three young kids and it all happening over the summer holidays!
I was also very impressed by the related trades (plumbing, electrics etc.) who were equally professional in their role and did a great job, especially when they (the plumbers) encountered a few problems from our existing heating set-up.
Please pass on our thanks to all involved and I certainly wouldn’t hesitate to recommend A1 in the future.

I was heavily pregnant and needed the work completed before the arrival of our baby and thanks to the team, it was.

We have just had completion of our loft conversion by A1, (courtesy of Peter) and are so impressed with the finished product that we just had to put this in writing. When Peter arrived to initiate the build, we were complete novices and immediately were put at ease by his knowledge, ideas and patience. As this was probably the most amount of money we would ever be spending on home improvements, it was crucial that we felt comfortable with the weeks ahead of us. Peter worked diligently on a daily basis and kept us up to date with every tiny detail as it transpired. He advised us along every step of the way and most definitely went way and above the call of duty on a few weekends when he came over to assist us on his days off. We were incredibly impressed with his skills in joinery and now have beautiful bespoke wardrobes to feel proud of.
Our neighbours were also informed continuously by him and commented on his brilliant work ethic and professionalism! This, I’m sure, will no doubt result in more A1 loft conversions in our road
Secondly, it needs to be noted that every member of A1 staff we dealt with on our journey were always courteous, considerate and adept in their particular field. At no point were we made to feel that any enquiry we had was unjustified or unnecessary.
I can’t really put into words how unbelievably happy we are with our finished loft space and ensuite.

The build team were hard working and very easy to talk to with our concerns and questions; even when a massive steel needed for the build was carefully manoeuvred through the outside wall, we felt relaxed in the knowledge that all was in hand.
The team offered guidance and provided suggestions when it came to storage space and those extras which often make the difference and was always willing to listen to our ideas and answer all the questions we had. On several occasions we left the house with the team working, and had the utmost trust in them working in and around the house as required. As someone who has clear ideas about how things should look and be done (from managing similar projects for many years) the team took on board my input and I was happy with all aspects of the teams work.
When the build finished and the decorators came in, I was so pleased with the quality of the finished decoration, that I could have had them do the whole house there and then!
The finished build is stunning, and far beyond our initial expectations from that first day when the scaffolding went up and half the roof was removed. We intend to have an extension to the rear of the house sometime in the next 18 months, and in all honesty, I would be reluctant to go anywhere else other than A1 to undertake the work having experienced what was almost a pleasure, rather than what can often turn into a nightmare.

Good morning. I wanted to drop you a note outlining my experience with A1 over the last few months.
My overarching view is fantastic; the job was professionally undertaken and even more surprising to me delivered within the timescale that was outlined.
At all times Curt and the team were courteous, helpful, and were always happy to accept changes and incorporate them into the build. Also you and your team were always on hand to make sure everything was going to schedule, the payment plan was simple and I always knew how much was due and when, this makes the financial side easy to manage.
As a further testament the decorating of the rooms came within the overall price, this was done to such a high level that we also contracted Peter to do more work for us which he has already done, and will definitely use him again. As you know the team also built some wardrobes for us and how they managed this in 2 days is still to me unknown but they did and they look great. I hope these 2 examples show the level of professionalism and workmanship the people you use have.
I would recommend A1 to any perspective customers without hesitation and would be welcome to do so at anytime

I just wanted to write and thank A1 Lofts for our beautiful new loft space. It has been an absolute pleasure dealing with your company and to see the results of our transformation have been well worth it!
From day one, when we met with Mike to discuss our requirements and give us a quote, to meeting our Project Manager Richard Conlin, and finally working with him and his amazing team, we were very impressed with your company’s professionalism and for us, it turned out to be a very painless experience.
It would of course not have been possible without our superb project team.
Richard and his team (including Mihai and his hard working partner) were just so easy to work with and nothing was too much trouble. Even my late afternoon phone calls were handled with ease and any concerns were quickly laid to rest. Whilst I am aware the team have built many lofts, they treated us as if we were their only client and their professionalism, courteousness and of course wealth of experience was very evident right throughout the project.
We have now moved into our beautiful new space and we are absolutely delighted with the results and again, cannot thank your company again for a job very well done! I would certainly not hesitate to refer your company on to other interested parties, and I have no doubt, whilst the team are already quite familiar with working in Foley Road, that we may very well see them back in our area in the near future.

We have recently undergone a loft conversion with A1 and the whole experience was a pleasant one. We now have a fabulous area which has given us so much more room. We have a large double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and another small room, so much from an old dirty loft space and a fantastic transformation. The whole team were brilliant headed up by Craig the project manager. Every trade that came into my house was polite and respectful and even the very few niggles that occurred were dealt with quickly. Craig was very responsive and communicated well with me throughout the project. I would recommend this company for your loft conversion.

We have recently finished loft conversion project done by A1 and I still can’t believe what a smooth and enjoyable journey it was. Our expectations were met at every stage. The team was on site every morning at 8am sharp working hard 8 hours in harsh weather conditions in January-February. Our project manager- Paul Gibbs – was on site regularly checking on a progress and quality of works making sure the project is running within committed timelines and the work is delivered to a high standard. Paul was exceptionally responsive to our concerns and queries and very positive and inspiring person to work with. I would recommend A1 to friends or neighbours without hesitation. Amazing experience! Amazing company to work with! Big big thank you, A1! I would do it again with you!

The design that we received from A1 had no point of comparison to other quotes we received. David and his team were amazing, clearly working well and efficiently together, being respectful of every aspect of our home, while also being very friendly. They were helpful answering all of our questions throughout the build and have even gone the extra step by answering questions after the project was completed. We feel very thankful towards the design team, and David and his team for transforming our house in such an amazing way. A1 is highly recommended on every aspect of the project.

Even from before we contacted A1 in the first place we were confident that we would be in good hands! We had seen A1 works going on extensively in the local area, my perception was that A1 were the ‘Rolls Royce’ of loft conversions and that maybe we’d feel a little too expensive.
However, after meeting with Mike it became clear that not only did A1 make suggestions that greatly suited our needs but also were priced very fairly. Finally the decision to appoint A1 left very little consideration.
The contract supplied and signed is so clear, no stone left unturned and nothing left open for question which is the way it should be, never any doubt in anyone’s mind about anything. The payment schedule is also very clear, fair and secure. Then me met Vlad who made some really fantastic suggestions on ways to improve and really achieve the vision that we had for our conversion.
The real experience started from there and we then met with our Team leader who, with Will, carried out some simply amazing work. Throughout the project all the guys appointed to work on our conversion were extremely skillful, professional and great guys too! We would recommend any of the contractors that worked on our loft without hesitation.
From the moment we met with the team, we felt that we were in safe hands. They were reassuring at every step of the project and nothing was ever too much trouble. The team really got us and our vision for our loft space, becoming our champion when we asked for something slightly different from the norm.
They were always punctual, reliable and efficient. They worked extremely hard from the minute they arrived till the minute they left, sometimes working Saturdays as well as over the Easter weekend. They were always respectful of us, our home and our neighbours.
They cleaned and tidied every evening with one of our neighbours remarking that they were the neatest builders he’d ever seen! In short, they were a pleasure to have around, making the whole process easier and even enjoyable – we were slightly sad to see them go! However, they have left us with a beautiful Master bedroom/ensuite and walk-in wardrobe, for which we thank them for. An outstanding build team, absolutely awesome! All the way through the project communication is open and clear, we received weekly updates from Michelle in the office and always knew where we were with progress. Now the job has finished, scaffolding has gone, skip collected we are left with the most amazing space and extension to our house. We would recommend A1 without hesitation, there’s no decision to make as far as we are concerned.

We have just had a new bathroom built by A1 Lofts and we have been very pleased with the team allocated to us. Rich and his team were professional in their handling of the job and the quality of the work was to a high standard. We were impressed with Mihai and Marcius, the two men allocated to the site for the whole of the job. They worked hard, were polite and very helpful at all times. They also left the site as tidy and clean as possible after each day’s work. Rich was the team leader. He made sure we were satisfied with the quality of the work and made sure that all was completed to a high standard, pleasing to us. We would recommend this team from A1 Loft limited to carry out building works.

All in all the overall experience has been great and exceeded expectations. Firstly Craig (Team Leader) and Lee were excellent. Craig ran the project like a well-oiled machine and his experience with these types of projects shined through. Their quality of work, advice and general demeanors were spot on. As for the plasterers, electrician, plumber and the tilers – everyone was great doing business with and the quality was of the highest standard. I would use all of them again and recommend them in a heartbeat. As soon as Helen and Craig came on the scene I felt we were in safer hands and everything fell into place. Thanks again for all your assistance. As you can see we now have a lot of positive things to say about A1, Helen, Craig and the others that completed the project for us. And when you hear about the building work horror stories that other people have gone through we feel very relieved. Maybe we’ll get you back to do the rear extension in a year or two.

From the first meeting with Rich I felt really comfortable with my decision to appoint A1. He made me feel at ease and explained what would happen over the course of the next few weeks. The scaffolding was erected and Rich and his team did everything possible to move cars and make space for the large van that arrived. They even spoke to my neighbours to reassure them and make them feel comfortable with what was going on. The project went very smoothly and I can honestly there were no issues. I was communicated with on a regular basis and Rich and his team were fantastic. Even after the conversion and work was complete Rich has been in contact to ensure that I am happy with the end result. I am delighted with my loft conversion. I just wanted to say how happy we are with everything in our loft.
Darryl has been amazing at keeping us up to date on progress, ensuring we get a top quality finish and generally being a good guy to have around (I broke my shoulder and elbow a couple of weeks ago so have appreciated his help carrying my shopping in!). I don’t think many people say they’ll miss their builders but we genuinely will be sad to see him go – I really feel like he’s gone the extra mile for us and takes real pride in what he’s doing.
All the tradesmen have been great, really courteous and responsive to queries, and everyone has taken care to try and keep our house clean and running smoothly despite the upheaval.
Thanks also for agreeing with Stuart that they will paint some of the hall rather than the loft space.
The team who do the extension will have a high standard to live up to!

Damian has been a fantastic project manager, with special credit to Rafal, who has been a joy to work with. They have been incredibly helpful throughout, with no problem or job too small. I have not experienced workers who are so professional and personable. They made every effort to keep the place clean whilst we were living here, and were hardworking, polite and efficient throughout. Finishing the loft itself in 6 weeks as promised, and fitting in with my schedule to get things like the decorating done whilst we were away was very impressive and appreciated. I will not hesitate to recommend A1 to my friends going forward.

We’ve just finished our loft extension and I wanted to let you know how delighted we are with the result, the team and the process that got us there.
Helen has project managed the build brilliantly. Right from the start she has always been on the end of the phone eager to help and solve any issues that may have risen. Dan, as our build team leader, has been excellent throughout. He met with us before work started, laid out the plans and expertly talked through any concerns and questions we had. All the way through the build he has communicated clearly, shared any issues that arose immediately, managed his teams efficiently and given us an absolutely fantastic loft space. As a family with two young children, Dan understood my wife’s needs when she and the kids were in the house and respected our wishes for privacy when appropriate. He and the team were clean and polite and our boys have even been asking where Dan is now that the build is complete!

I wanted to let you know how delighted we have been with Gene and his team of Michael and Pascha. Throughout our build, they were incredibly friendly, diligent and considerate. They always arrived promptly at 8am, worked tirelessly and were delighted to address any query we might have; while also doing their utmost to limit the level of dust and disturbance to a minimum.
The end result looks great and we look forward to utilising the additional space.

We have now finally finished, and we are absolutely delighted with the result, in every way. We also cannot praise highly enough the professionalism and the expertise of all the people that we have had on site. All of them went beyond what we expected, and were a delight to work with.
The key to this success, we feel, is the following:
1 – The leadership, project management, and hands-on expertise of our project manager
2 – The entire process by which A1 manages each conversion
3 – The choice of individual contractors- they were all highly skilled, efficient workers, who were always prepared to work together with us, the client. They were punctual, polite and did not get in our way.
4 – All workers were very sensitive to our neighbours (we live in a community) and our overall surroundings. The neighbours commented on how polite the workers were.
The loft rooms feel light and spacious, we love using them. We thank you all for your hard work in making this happen.

We’ve just lived through a loft conversion – we now have 3 new rooms: Two double bedrooms and a bathroom. Not many people say this, but it was a painless task. We employed A1 Lofts who took 5 weeks to convert our loft into our new guest wing! They brought in a mass of highly skilled roofers, plumbers, electricians, builders, plasterers and tilers and it was all project managed by an on-site project manager. There were no fag breaks, coffee requests, idle chats, these guys just came in and did the job to the highest spec. Each day they all cleaned up after themselves and they were highly respectful of James and I during the day. I couldn’t ask for better.
